Greer County Sheriff Devin Huckabay says the new suits are replacing the faded and tattered orange jumpsuits worn in the past.

Huckabay says one reason for the choice of color is to provide incentives for people not to break the law and wind up in jail.

He says the male inmates "don't like wearing them."

He says another consideration is that inmates in pink are easier to keep track of and to manage when working on community projects or being transferred.
