TULSA, OK -- Many city of Tulsa employees will have a four day holiday weekend starting Friday.

The City of Tulsa says city hall and other city offices will be closed Friday, July 2, for a furlough day and then on Monday, July 5, for the Independence Day holiday.

In a news release from the city, the furlough on Friday will not affect trash service and curbside recycling, both of which will operate as normal on that day.

The City of Tulsa's greenwaste site at 10401 East 56th Street North, also will be open on Friday as usual from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but closed on Sunday, July 4.

The greenwaste site will reopen on Monday, July 5.

Because July 4 falls on a Sunday this year, residential trash service will not be affected either in the once-a-week or twice-a-week collection areas. Trash and recyclables will be collected according to the usual schedule on Monday, July 5.

All of Tulsa Park's recreation centers will be closed Friday and Monday, but the parks' outdoor facilities, including pools, will be accessible as usual.

The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter at 3031 North Erie Avenue will be open on Friday, and then closed on Monday.

Mohawk and Page Belcher golf courses, as well as Tulsa Zoo, will be open both Friday and Monday.
