LINCOLN COUNTY, OK -- An Edmond woman was killed by a speeding motorist after she and her husband stopped their motorcycles by the side of Turner Turnpike in heavy rain.

Kathleen Lyons-Bunna, 46, and her husband Donald Bunna had stopped their Harley Davidson motorcycles near mile marker 163 on eastbound Turner Turnpike in Lincoln County, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

At about 7:01 p.m. a Tulsa driver, 53-year-old Jeffrey Montray, was traveling at "speed greater than reasonable and proper" on the rainy, slick road, the trooper states.

Montray's Pontiac left the roadway to the right and hit the Bunnas who had stopped their motorcycles during the downpour.

Kathleen Lyons-Bunna was pronounced dead at the scene from massive trauma. Donald Bunna was transported to a Stroud hospital in fair condition with leg injuries.

Montray and his passenger, 46-year-old Brett Montray of Tulsa, refused treatment at the scene, the trooper's report states.
