PAWNEE, OK -- Pawnee County Sheriff Roger Price was arraigned Wednesday in a Pawnee County courtroom on three felony charges.
Price is accused of stealing a car-hauling trailer and also of driving two vehicles that were seized in drug arrests and should have been held as evidence.
According to court documents, a neighbor says he saw Price take the trailer in April, so he called police. When he was pulled over, Sheriff Price said he'd been asked to get the trailer by a former Oklahoma Highway Patrol partner, but that partner says he did no such thing.
Sheriff Price later said he thought he was being set up.
He was released without having to post bond and will be back in court for a preliminary hearing August 20.
