Okemah Mother, Daughter Reunited After More Than 40 Years

TULSA, OK -- An Okemah mother and her daughter were reunited after more than 40 years Wednesday. Amanda's dad took she and her brother away from their mom Sharon when Amanda was just two years old.  Her brother was just ten months old at the time.

The women have been looking for each other for decades and finally found each thanks to the Internet.

"Just knowing she was ok," Sharon said.  "Because I've always wondered all this time whether they were ok or not."

"Don't ever lose me again," Amanda told her mom.

Amanda lives in Las Vegas now. She'll be in town for a week and a half.  While she's here, she'll accompany her mother to Arkansas for a reunion with an aunt.

As for the other child taken from Sharon, the family has already tracked him down.
