BROKEN ARROW, OK -- A Broken Arrow Church put a twist on a traditional garage sale and helped families in need.

Heritage United Methodist Church hosted Share Day on Saturday.

Shoppers could attend the event and pick out anything they needed -- all for free.

Church members donated everything from clothes and TV's, to furniture.

They say it's a great way to show the community they care.

"It's been a privilege to work in our community and be able to help those who might need some stuff before school starts. So it's a privilege to get to serve our community here at Heritage," said Rev. Scott Rodgers, Heritage United Methodist Church.

Some people lined up as early as 4 a.m. to take their turn at the garage sale. Church officials say more than 1,000 people showed up to shop. The garage sale ended at 1 p.m. Saturday.
