JENKS---Plans by the city of Jenks to scrap two railroad cars and demolish the old railroad station have railroad preservationists scrambling.

Deemed an ‘attractive nuisance' by the city, the old Frisco Line cars have been vandalized and sprayed with graffiti. Now with Jenks expanding their school parking nearby, they want the cars off the property at 110 West A Street, and have contracted Ark Wrecking to remove them within the month.

‘The City of Jenks wants them removed and would prefer to have them removed before school starts,' said Railroad Preservationist Mike Massey, ‘we definitely have our backs against the wall. Personally I would like to have the cars preserved because they are old Frisco cars and once they're gone they're gone.'

Railroad buffs are currently looking for cranes and transportation for the cars as well as a place to put them.
