TULSA, OK -- Holly Energy Partners plans to donate $75,000 for new playground equipment at Howard Park as part of an agreement to run pipelines underneath the City of Tulsa owned land.

Holly plans to add pipelines underneath the park with horizontal boring that will not disturb the land. The pipelines will carry refinery products and a fiber optics cable between two Holly properties along Southwest Boulevard.

The pipelines will range in size from 8" to 12" and will be no less than 5' underground, but in places will be 25' deep. The Department of Public Works told the city council that the depth of the lines eliminated any safety concerns.

The refinery is seeking approval from the city to run the lines under the park. The donation is not required to seek the easement, but was offered as part of the request by Holly.

The request is before the Tulsa City Council for approval Thursday, August 12.

Read the request for easement to the city council with all the details.
