TULSA---This week the Oklahoma Conference for Community and Justice kicked of a campaign promoting respect and understanding among all races, religions and cultures.
‘OCCJ has been around for about 52 years and during that time we've been fortunate to build a good following and a lot of great supporters,' said OCCJ Vice President for Public Awareness Russ Florence, ‘but we recognized there was a big demographic that we weren't hitting, and that was primarily young people, twenties and thirties.'
The new campaign ‘This Machine' aims to engage youth by enlisting talented Oklahoma musicians to help raise awareness of OCCJ and their mission to promote tolerance and cultural and religious understanding.
Ads in newspapers and magazines featuring the musicians will run over the next few months and a web site has been built which explains the campaign and tells the back story of the musicians with photos and videos.
