Tulsa Golf Courses Getting New Greens

TULSA, OK -- Two city of Tulsa golf courses will get new greens and actually save some green in the process.

According to the city, installing new grass on the putting greens will save about $100,000 a year and maybe more.

The city says the savings come from reduced maintenance costs.

Crews will begin work soon, so the Olde Page course at Page Belcher and the Woodbine course at Mohawk are off limits starting Friday.  They're expected to re-open the first week of October.

Mohawk's Pecan Valley course and Page Belcher's Stone Creek courses will not be affected.

According to the city, no general fund money or sales tax money will be used for the renovations. Instead, they're being funded by the Golf Course Operations Fund, which comes from greens fees customers pay at the courses.
