TULSA, OK – Those Ozone Awareness signs will light up for the first time this summer today.
Thursday is the first Ozone Alert day since earlier this spring.
To help keep Tulsa's air clean, you're urged to leave your carpool, postpone yard work, and avoid filling up at the gas station.
Ozone is formed when the gas nitrogen oxide combines with chemicals called volatile organic compounds. Hot and windless days usually create the perfect conditions for an ozone alert day.
