TULSA, OK -- Driving under the influence of alcohol was blamed for a rollover accident on the Creek Turnpike overnight Sunday. One driver was under the influence and the other smelled of alcohol, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 2 a.m. on eastbound Creek Turnpike just east of Memorial Drive in Tulsa. Troopers say a Jeep Cherokee driven by 43-year-old Wayne Skinner of Tulsa crossed into another lane for an unknown reason, striking a 2005 Ford truck driven by 36-year-old J.R. Johnson of Claremore.

Skinner's jeep rolled a half time, coming to rest in the roadway. The second vehicle continued on, leaving the scene, the trooper's report states.

Skinner was admitted to a local hospital in stable condition with head and neck injuries.

The investigation led to the arrest of James Robert Johnson for hit and run from an injury accident. Johnson was arrested at his residence, and the damage on his truck matched the damage on Skinner's Cherokee according to the arrest report.

Johnson was not injured. The two teenage girls and 23-month-old boy in his pickup were also uninjured.

Skinner was driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the Highway Patrol. The report also states that Johnson had an odor of alcohol on his person.
