Alert Customer Helps Police Catch Tulsa Bank Robbery Suspect

A man accused of robbing a Tulsa bank Thursday is behind bars, thanks to an alert customer.

TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- A man who robbing a Tulsa bank Thursday is behind bars, thanks to an alert customer.

It happened at the Bank of America at 7878 E. Admiral, just after 11 a.m. Thursday morning.

Tellers told police a man entered the bank, handed over a note and implied that he had a weapon.  The man then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police said a customer watched the suspect get into a gray four door car with the numbers 889 on the Oklahoma license plate. Police said the customer also notice a red handicap sticker on the rearview mirror.

Officers spotted the vehicle Thursday afternoon at the Quick Trip at 3100 South 129th East Avenue, where they followed it to the Windsong Apartments at 9700 East 31st Street.

Officers arrested the suspect Thursday evening when they saw him return to his car about 8 p.m.  Police said Jeffrey Green, 55, is an convicted felon.

Thursday's robbery was Tulsa's 16th bank robbery of 2010.
