TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- Tulsa Police have identified a man shot several times Thursday afternoon in an apparent home invasion.

Police said Terrell McIntosh, 49, was sleeping at his home in the 1600 block of East 66th Court, near 67th and Peoria, when he heard a noise at about 12:20 p.m. Police said when McIntosh went to check out the noise, he found three teenagers trying to break into his home.

Officers said the suspects shot McIntosh several times in the chest Thursday, September 2, 2010.

He walked down the street and two home healthcare nurses taking care of their patient inside a nearby home found him covered in blood.

"We were taking care of a patient and heard something that sounded like a hurt cat outside, it didn't really sound like a cry for help. I went outside to go see what was going on, to investigate," Christina Boatright said.

McIntosh was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police are still looking for the suspects.  Witnesses said they saw three black males running south from the house towards some apartments. They are described as 16 to 19 years old.

If you know anything that can help Tulsa Police in their investigation, call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
