Eastbound I-40 near U.S. 81 Reopened After Fatal Fiery Semi Crash

The driver of a semi was killed in a fiery rollover on eastbound I-40 between U.S. 81 and Banner Road. All lanes have been reopened.

EL RENO, Oklahoma -- The driver of a semi was killed in a fiery rollover on eastbound I-40 between U.S. 81 and Banner Road.

I-40 eastbound was closed at mile marker 120 due to the heavy smoke in the area from the crash. All lanes have been reopened.

The crash occurred at the beginning of a construction zone.

Yukon fire crews arrived at the scene to find the semi was fully engulfed in flames. Smoke from the crash could be seen from almost 10 miles away.

El Reno, Yukon and Union City Fire Departments responded to the crash.

The driver's identity has not been released. No word yet on what caused the accident.
