OKLAHOMA CITY -- The non-profit group Feed The Children is teaming up with organizations throughout the year to support the nation's troops and their families.

Feed the Children donated $6,000 to The Hugs Project Friday.

The donation was just part of a series of donations from Feed the Children to eleven different national and regional non-profits that are helping military families across the nation.

More than 3,000 people will receive food throughout the year through Feed the Children's Americans Feeding Americans Caravan.

"In this tough economic time, many are living paycheck to paycheck, but let's not forget those who protect our country may have families that need extra help as well," said Feed The Children spokesperson Tony Sellars.
