EUFALA, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said it has located a boat involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Lake Eufaula Saturday evening.

According to OHP, the boat was located at the Cook Creek boat slip on Lake Eufaula.

The OHP said it obtained a search warrant and seized the boat.

Troopers say the boat, a 2003 Cobalt, was operated by 20-year-old Aaron Jones of Moore.  Jones and a passenger in the boat, 22-year-old Sarah Walker also of Moore, were not injured in the accident.

The incident happened at 6:22 p.m. Saturday, September 4, about a mile north of Standing Rock in McIntosh County.

Troopers say 38-year-old Greg Scherff was a passenger in a 2002 Sea Ray that was stopped on the lake when the Cobalt hit it from behind then left the scene. The impact killed Scherff.

Four of the other five people in the Sea Ray with Scherff remain in the hospital.

The OHP said its report will be turned over to the McIntosh County DA's office Tuesday.
