Jones Hit by Small Earthquake Tuesday Evening

OKLAHOMA CITY – A 2.2 magnitude earthquake struck Jones Tuesday evening.

The quake hit four miles north of Choctaw and four miles northeast of Nicoma Park at about 6:30 p.m.

A 2.3 magnitude earthquake hit Johnson five minutes before. Johnson is about 35 miles southeast of Jones.

No damage was reported from the small quake. Researchers say 2.5 to 3.0 magnitude quakes are typically the smallest felt by people.
