Stilwell Man Drowns After Driving Across Flooded Creek

ADAIR COUNTY – A Stilwell man drowned Thursday morning after he tried to drive across a flooded creek in Adair County , according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Jackie Warford, 19, was trying to cross the flooded creek when his Ford Ranger was swept off the road.

OHP said Warford's body was found tangled in brush nearby. Troopers don't know if he was ejected from the vehicle or tried to crawl out and swim to safety.
