Tulsa Man Arrested For Threatening To Light A Woman On Fire

TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- A 26-year-old Tulsa man is in the county jail after he was arrested late Thursday night on an arson complaint.

Tulsa Police say woman called police at 9:30 p.m. and told them Jason Smith sprayed her with lighter fluid and threatened to light her on fire.

By the time police officers got to the home in the 2800 block of East 44th Street North, Smith had fled without carrying through on his threat.

Officers immediately began a search of the neighborhood but did not find him.

At about 11:30 p.m., the victim again called Tulsa Police to say Smith had returned and this time police officers arrived and arrested him.

Smith was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a fourth degree arson complaint as well as numerous unrelated outstanding warrants.
