TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- Some Tulsa students traded pens and notebooks for work gloves and crowbars Monday.
About 100 freshmen and sophomores from Metro Christian Academy are helping clean up and renovate three Tulsa houses.
"Tulsa CountyWorks" is fixing up those houses and several others to help low-income families achieve home ownership. For both groups, it's a labor of love.
"We just want to make sure that our kids see different areas of Tulsa," said Kristi Neerman. "We want them to help anyone who needs help."
Metro Christian students also spent time renovating a church and warehouse in North Tulsa.
