TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- Tulsa police officers put themselves in harm's way every day so they're loving a gift from a Tulsa McDonald's Wednesday.

As part of their grand re-opening, the restaurant near 51st and Memorial purchased two bullet-proof vests for TPD. Officers in the chaplain program will wear them when they respond to crime scenes.

Bob Wagner is the newest owner of this particular McDonald's. He says the community has given so much to this store over the past 36 years, he wanted to do something to give back.

"My hope is that everybody will give back a little bit," Wagner said. "If everybody can give back a little bit, it'll make it a lot better place."

The McDonald's at 51st and Memorial is Tulsa's newest. It was rebuilt in just 85 days.

Wagner plans to buy smoke detectors for the fire department as well.
