MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- The lawyer for a Midwest City man accused of murdering his pregnant girlfriend has planned an insanity defense.

Police said 28-year-old Eric Knox killed 25-year-old Stacey Beesley in her Midwest City apartment just days before Christmas 2009.

Beesley was 21 weeks pregnant when she was murdered.

Friday, a judge granted a continuance in the case so Knox's attorney could obtain another psychological evaluation for his client. An evaluation at the county jail concluded Knox was not insane. His attorney said that was inadequate.
