OKLAHOMA CITY -- A 4.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Luther early Sunday afternoon by the Oklahoma Geological Survey Observatory.
The earthquake struck around 5:00 p.m. It was recorded five miles south of Luther and five miles east northeast of Jones.
It was the largest of several quakes to strike the area in the last two months.
No damage was reported from the small quake. Researchers said 2.5 to 3.0 magnitude quakes are typically the smallest felt by people.
