TULSA, OK---This month the American Red Cross is urging all families to collect a supply of items to be used in the event of a disaster or an emergency evacuation.
Flashlights, batteries and enough fresh water to last at least three days are always needed in an emergency kit, but it is important to customize the supplies to size and makeup of those the kit is intended to support.
Hand-cranked radios and LED lanterns, first-aid kits come to mind for many families, but items such as a supply of cash and identification for both you and your pets are frequently forgotten.
For a comprehensive list of supplies you might need in a disaster, visit the Red Cross web site here.
