OKLAHOMA CITY -- A married couple from Lawton has claimed their winning Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million.

Elvin and Jacqueline Vinson picked up their check Friday. They bought the winning ticket Sept. 21 at the convenience store Stripes on N.W. Cache Road.

Jacqueline Vinson said she would keep working as a federal employee for a few more years until she reaches retirement age. Elvin served 24 years in the military and is retired from Fort Sill in Lawton. They've been married for 33 years.

The couple planned to pay off their mortgage, and use the rest of the money to take care of themselves and their children.

"I believed I was going to win and I am very thankful, but I am not finished…I plan to keep playing!" Elvin said.

The winning ticket matched five of five white balls for a $250,000 prize, but because the Vinsons purchased the Megaplier option for an additional $1, the multiplier raised the prize to $1 million.
