STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Some Stillwater residents are headed to Washington D.C. in October to join Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity next month.

"We will gather at the mall, the million moderate march. We're going to send a message to our leaders and say ‘We're here. We're only here till 6 because we have a sitter,'" said Jon Stewart, during his announcement on "The Daily Show."

The announcement for the Rally to Restore Sanity caught the attention of thousands of The Daily Show's fans all across the country including some supporters in Stillwater.

"It feels like the country is really angry," said Ron Honn, the Stillwater event organizer. "When I see all this yelling and anger I finally decided I can do something and this is a cause I can support."

Honn is chartering a bus to make the trip to the nation's capital as part of his birthday present and to make a point.

"I feel like I'm part of a silent majority of people. I work for a living. I'm busy, I don't have a lot of time, but I really care about my country," Honn said.

The group will make the 21-hour drive to the National Mall to make the rally on October 30.

"I'm not looking forward to it. I don't think it'll be very much fun for the ride but it'll be fun once we get there," said Cheryl Baker, a rally supporter.

Baker heard the call and wanted to take action in a deeply divided America.

"I think it is non-partisan, just anybody who wants to see a more intelligent discourse and discussion rather than yelling at each other," Baker said.

A Facebook page has started for the Stillwater rally goers and nearly 200 fans have joined in to "Restore Sanity."

"I think it's great. I made that sign back there ‘Sanity is OK' and I think it can apply to Oklahoma as well," Baker said.

The Stillwater group will leave on October 29 and be back just in time for trick or treating with their kids on Halloween night.
