TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- A 17-year-old male is being treated for dog bites after being bitten by a police K-9 unit during his arrest early Tuesday morning.

Police received several calls at about 2:45 a.m. in regards to prowlers in the 3200 block of South Erie in the Highland Park addition.

Tulsa Police officers could not find the prowlers.

Just before 3 a.m. they received a call about an attempted burglary on the same street.

The residents of that home gave police the descriptions of two suspects.

A K-9 officer tracked them for about a block and found the teen hiding behind another house. He suffered a minor dog bite to the thigh.

He was taken to a Tulsa hospital to have the bite treated.

The other suspect was not located.
