D.A. Will Not File Charges Against OU Ruf-Neks For Painting Bridge

GOLDSBY, Oklahoma -- Some members of the OU Ruf-Neks spirit squad won't be facing criminal charges after all.

Monday, McClain County District Attorney Greg Mashburn said he would file misdemeanor charges against four Ruf-Neks for defacing the Goldsby Bridge along Interstate 35.

The Ruf-Neks traditionally paint "Red River Raid" on the bridge on the eve of the OU-Texas weekend.

Now, instead of filing charges, Mashburn plans to discuss alternative punishments with the four students.
