Tulsa Police Issue Door-To-Door Sales Warning

TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Police issued a warning Wednesday about door-to-door salespeople who are actually thieves.

Officers have received a number of calls recently about people trying to sell something by knocking on doors.

Police have arrested three people recently for stealing items from inside homes and say the three have been arrested in other states for the same thing.

Detectives say suspects use several tactics to get inside, like asking to use the phone or bathroom or distracting the victims.

For your safety, remember these things:

• Don't open your door to strangers
• Don't let strangers come inside
• Don't buy anything from someone at your door or over the phone
