BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- The Broken Arrow Board of Education voted 4-0 this week to appoint Steve Allen to a vacancy on the school board.

Steve Allen is a 1989 graduate of Broken Arrow High School.

In a news release, Allen's family includes his wife, Teri, and their two children who attend Haskell Middle School in Broken Arrow.

"My greatest blessing is being able to be involved with my two boys in their activities. I have had the great fortune of being able to coach them in their respective sports. I get to watch them grow as young men as well as athletes," said Steve Allen. "I enjoy the time we spend together driving to and from practices just sharing thoughts and feelings of what's going on in their lives."

Allen has served as both a teacher and coach in Broken Arrow schools from 1998 to 2002.

He is currently employed as a senior risk consultant for Commercial Risk Group Inc and belongs to several community organizations.

Allen will finish the term of office to which he was appointed.
