ENID, Oklahoma – Enid police have arrested two teens and a woman, identified as their mother, linked to more than 14 car and home burglaries.

At about 2 a.m. on October 14, two officers patrolling 30th Street saw two teenagers dressed in black walking along a ditch. When the officers tried to question the teens, one of them fled.

Officers detained the other teen and searched his backpack, finding an HP laptop, Play Station, Wii game, DVD player, liquor and other items that had recently been stolen from homes and vehicles in the area.

Their follow-up investigation led to the home of the detained suspect and the suspect's 13-year-old brother, who had fled the scene. Police spoke with the mother of the two teens, 40-year-old Yako Laynette Grisham, of Enid, and were granted permission to search her home in the 2600 block of East Maple.

Police found more stolen property linked to 10 car burglaries and thefts of bicycles from the Brookside addition and the Rolling Meadows Apartment complex, in the 3200 block of East Randolph. Police also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The investigation also revealed the mother, Yako Grisham, was aware of the stolen property and placed a stolen bicycle in her bedroom and she knew and condoned the fact the juveniles were smoking marijuana in her residence.

During questioning, the 13-year-old-suspect admitted to committing 15 burglaries a night with his older brother.

The juveniles were arrested on complaints of possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, minor in possession of alcohol, second-degree burglary to residence, three counts of burglary to auto, four counts of knowingly and concealing stolen property and petit larceny. Charges were filed through Garfield County Office of Juvenile Affairs and an order of detention was issued for both teens.

Yako Grisham was arrested and booked into the Garfield County Detention Center for knowingly and concealing stolen property and contributing to the delinquency of minors.

The investigation is ongoing to determine if these suspects are linked to any other car or home burglaries.
