OKLAHOMA CITY -- A hiring board has delayed making a decision about the state's chief medical examiner.
The job was offered to Dr. Philip Keen in September, pending a background check by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. The hiring board has since expressed concerns about Dr. Keen's actions in the past.
The OSBI discovered Dr. Keen once carried a victim's body in the bed of his truck for nearly 100 miles. Dr. Keen later testified in court he felt it was necessary to get the body to a lab as quickly as possible.
Dr. Keen said he hopes the board will stand by its decision to give him the job.
