DELAWARE COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A 28-year-old Miami woman is dead after a collision with an apparent drunk driver at 1:08 a.m. Saturday. Tiffany D. Sanchez was pinned in her vehicle for almost two hours and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Sanchez was northbound on County Road 260 about three miles east of Bernice in Delaware County when an oncoming car crossed the center line and hit her vehicle head on. Her 2006 Kia left 75 feet of skid marks on the road before the crash.

Troopers say that Justin T. Buzzard, the 25-year old Vinita driver of the car that crossed the center lane, smelled of alcohol. He was taken by medical helicopter to a Joplin hospital in poor condition with numerous injuries.

According to the trooper's report, Sanchez was wearing a safety belt while Buzzard was not.
