TULSA, Oklahoma -- The News on Six teamed up with Shredders Inc. to help you fight identity theft.
Hundreds dropped off their confidential documents to have them shredded for free Saturday. Folks dropped off everything from old checks to bank statement to junk mail.
"Anything that has your name or could have your social on it or something like that get rid of it instead of just putting it in the trash," said participant Ronald Bunch.
Organizers say you may want to keep some of those documents longer than others.
For more on what you should keep and how long you should hang on to it, go to Shredders Inc.
