PONCA CITY, Oklahoma -- Ponca City Police said two star athletes from Ponca City High School are facing serious rape allegations.

Police said they arrested 18-year-old Austin Legg and 18-year-old Devin Aguirre on November 5, 2010. Jail records showed the two were booked into jail on Sunday and posted bond on Monday night. Their bond was $100,000.

"The victims are two 14-year-old girls in separate incidents," said Ponca City Police Spokeswoman Sherry Bowers.

Police said they are confident in the case given the circumstances.

"In rape cases where there is doubt about a victim's story, we file different kind of paperwork than what's been filed in these two cases," she added. Bowers would not elaborate further.

Both Legg and Aguirre are star high school wrestlers who made it to the state championship last year and won in their weight classes.

Police have not released why the two were arrested on the same day.

Efforts to contact the Kay County District Attorney and Ponca City Schools Superintendent were unsuccessful Monday.  Police said the reports would be released Tuesday.

Legg's mother declined to comment on the situation but referred News 9 to her attorney.
