SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -- A Green Country company hopes to brew up success with a plan to turn an old power plant into a micro brewery.

The old brick building is the former Sand Springs Power, Light and Water building. It's on the national register of historic places.

The city's been using it for storage.

"We had struggled with what do you do with a building like that and it was going to take someone with a vision and today we see that vision coming true," said Sand Springs Mayor Bob Walker.

The brewery will draw from the natural spring nearby that gave the city its name.

And that also gave owner Ken Alexander the inspiration for his restaurant's name: Spring Loaded Brewery.
