Tulsa Business Owner Beats Up Burglary Suspect

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa business owner surprised a burglary suspect in his store early Friday morning and ended up fighting with him before the man fled for his life.

Tulsa Police say officers were called to the Blue Jackalope at Phoenix and Southwest Boulevard shortly after 1 a.m.

The owner told officers he was in the basement when the electricity suddenly went out.

Going upstairs, the owner spotted the suspect and got into a fight.

The fight ended with the burglar running out the back door.

Police say while the owner only received minor scratches in the fight, they believe the suspect suffered a number of cuts and other injuries and will probably need medical treatment.

Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
