'Tipsy Tow' Offering Free Rides This Thanksgiving
TULSA, Oklahoma -- If you have a bit too much wine with your turkey, "Tipsy Tow" can help you out this Thanksgiving. A free tow for your car and a free ride home for you are available from AAA Oklahoma from 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 24 through midnight Sunday, November 28 in several Oklahoma cities including Tulsa and Muskogee.
The service is free to AAA members and non-members alike.
"We often hear of people taking chances and driving when they really shouldn't simply because they don't want to hitch a ride and leave their car behind," said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma.
"This way, everyone, including the vehicle, gets home safely."
To call for Tipsy Tow, dial 800-AAA-HELP and ask for Tipsy Tow. AAA will provide a free tow and ride, no questions asked, within a 15-mile radius of point of pickup, for the vehicle and up to two people.
There is one catch: the only place AAA will take you is home.
"This is the 20th year AAA Oklahoma has offered Tipsy Tow," said Mai. "Our hope is that the program gets a lot of use. We really feel lives have been saved by people calling Tipsy Tow. For us, it's well worth the effort."
