TULSA, Oklahoma -- If you are planning to travel by air this Thanksgiving, expect to see longer lines at an airport known for its fast and easy check in process.

Tulsa International Airport typically sees about five to six thousand passengers per day, according to the airport's spokesperson Alexis Higgins.

But over the next seven days the airport will see those numbers double, the busiest being the Sunday and Monday after Thanksgiving.

To beat the crowd Higgins suggests give yourself plenty of time.

"Arrive 90 minutes early for domestic flights and 2 hours early for international flights," Higgins said.

Another tip Higgins offers is do some research before flying. Travelers can go to the TIA's website to see what new restrictions are in place and what you can and cannot take aboard your flight.

Also, a factor to consider is a loosely organized Internet boycott of full-body scans, called National Opt-Out Day, which may slow down air travel nation wide

Body scans take as little as 10 seconds, but people who decline the process must submit to a full pat-down.

While it's not known how it will affect air travel at TIA, Higgins says most Tulsa passengers are ok with the process, but they are seeing some unease.

"Were getting a lot of concern from people about the pat down procedure, because the attention from the national media," she said.

Despite the threat of a protest and a potential slow down, Higgins says it should be a pretty smooth travel week.
