TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Police said a man was critically injured Tuesday night when he was hit by a car. Tulsa Police are looking for the driver of that car.

It happened just before 6 p.m. near 25th and Garnett Tuesday night.

Police said the victim, about 75 years old, was crossing the street on the eastside of Garnett when he was hit by a car going north on Garnett.  A witness told police the man rolled off the car and then fell to the ground.

Police said the driver of the vehicle did not stop.  The car was last seen going east on 25th street.

"We need anyone who might have been in the area, might have saw this gentleman get hit, might have got a tag number or anyone maybe who seen this vehicle since," said Tulsa Police officer Leland Ashley. "We ask that driver to come give us a call, come forward."

Police described the vehicle as either a white or light blue Honda Civic or car, early to mid 1990's model.  Police said there is possible damage to the windshield of the vehicle.

"This time of year it gets dark early," Ashley said. "We need the drivers to make sure they're looking out for pedestrians but you also need the pedestrians to look out for the vehicles."

Police said the man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
