OKLAHOMA CITY -- The 205th Communications Squadron with the Air National Guard came home Wednesday. And they made it just in time for Thanksgiving.

Teri Joyner of Del City was ecstatic. Her 26-year-old son Nathan Joyner was one of the 25 Air National guardsmen who arrived at Will Rogers World Airport Wednesday afternoon.

"We're definitely ready for them to be home," said Joyner. "We thought they might not make it home for the holidays."

Nathan has been with the guard for two years and was doing satellite communications with his unit. He comes from a long line of military men. This was his first deployment.

"It was very stressful," said Teri Joyner. "I didn't like having my baby there."

The 205th Communications Squadron spent six months in Afghanistan during this latest tour of duty.

"It's a true blessing for our entire family. We can't wait until he comes in gets in and we can have him in our arms,' said Theresa Potter, whose husband was deployed.

And then the moment of truth arrived and Theresa's son Trey got to hug his dad Anthony and welcome him home.

"I'm thankful. I'm very thankful my family's here. I'm home, it's Thanksgiving and its awesome," said Anthony Potter.

Nathan Joyner also had family and friends waiting to welcome him and all the members of the 205th home for the holidays.

"It's such a blessing to have them home," said Mary Wagner, Nathan's grandmother.

Teri Joyner said she was afraid her son would not recognize her at the airport. She had gastric bypass surgery while he was gone and lost 118 lbs. But like any good son, he had no problem spotting his mom.
