ROGERS COUNTY -- Two Catoosa women will go to court this month for allegedly stealing yard decorations - while in the company of an 11-year-old child.

Leona Christina Harper, 38, and Alison Prolenski, 21, are scheduled to face grand larceny and child endangerment charges in court on December 15, according to Rogers County records.

A homeowner initially alerted Catoosa police at 3 a.m. November 24th that two women were stealing flower pots and yard decorations from his and his neighbors' yards. He went outside and confronted the two women, writing down their license tag number and giving a description to the police.

Arresting Officer Brad James said he tracked the car to the Indian Hills Apartment complex. The manager of the complex notified police that there were "a lot" of stolen items in the doorway of an apartment. James said he also saw other items inside the residence.

An 11-year-old girl told police that she had been riding with the women when they took items including flower pots, Christmas decorations and more from several yards. She also said the women were driving recklessly "like they were drunk," according to the probable cause affidavit.

Leona Harper is the mother of a 12-year-old girl who was killed while crossing the street near the Catoosa Public Schools campus on February 2, 2010. She led a campaign for improved safety along the road where her daughter was killed.
