Tara Vreeland joined The News On 6 team in January 2009 as weekend anchor and reporter.

A native of Wyoming, Vreeland landed her first job in her hometown of Cheyenne at KGWN. She spent two years there as weeknight co-anchor and producer.

Vreeland is a graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in technical journalism. While in college, she anchored and reported for the campus news station. She also gained experience reporting from the red carpet as an intern in entertainment at KABC in Los Angeles.

Growing up in the Cowboy State, Vreeland became very active in the sport of rodeo and Cheyenne Frontier Days. She traveled and promoted the rodeo as a member of the equestrian drill team, the Dandies. Vreeland also held the rodeo royalty titles, Lady-in-Waiting 2003 and Miss Frontier 2004.

"I spent my summers in ro-dee-o and on ro-day-o. I think I'm a good mix of both," says Vreeland. She is also excited to be in Oklahoma although she is still trying to conquer her irrational fear of tornadoes.

When not working, Vreeland spends her free time with, Echo, her Quarter Horse. She also enjoys working out, running, reading, baking, traveling, and cheering on the Colorado State Rams and Denver Broncos.
