TULSA, Oklahoma -- Some Monte Cassino students spent Wednesday at the mall, but they weren't skipping class.

They were buying gifts for the Salvation Army's angel tree. The students have been working since October to raise money, coming up with more than $12,000.

"Their group went and raised money by doing things like lemonade stands, baby-sitting services, bake sales, garage sales," said Lenna Coffman, a teacher at Monte Cassino.

"We're going to get gift for this kid," Jaxon Schulz, a Monte Cassino student, said. "What he needs and wants and maybe something educational if we have extra money."

The students used that hard earned cash to buy gifts for dozens of angels on this year's tree.
