Muskogee Man Arrested After His Pickup Truck Tears Up 4 Tulsa Lawns

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A 27-year-old Muskogee man was taken to the Tulsa County jail after driving his pickup truck through four different front lawns early Thursday morning before crashing into a rock wall. 

It happened just after 1 a.m. when Tulsa Police attempted to pull the pickup truck over on 21^st Street, just west of Harvard. 

The driver of the pickup, Charles Benefield sped off.  Officers found the pickup truck a short time later about a block away. 

They say it had traveled across four front lawns, going airborne at a least two driveways before crashing into a rock wall. 

Two passengers were taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital to be checked out, but are expected to be okay. 

Benefield refused treatment and he was arrested by police on several complaints, including DUI and aggravated speeding.
