TULSA, Oklahoma -- A strong cold front with its blast of Arctic air is moving into Green Country pretty much on schedule, according to WARN Team meteorologist Dick Faurot. Saturday morning's temperatures will be the warmest of the day before the "real deal cold air" moves in later in the day.

"By this afternoon, our winds will have increased to 20-30 mph or more and temperatures will be falling into the 30s. By the time the sun goes down, look for temperatures to be near freezing and with those strong northerly winds, wind chill values will be in the teens and low 20s," Faurot said.

Though there may be a few light rain showers Saturday morning, the cold front is not expected to bring moisture into the area.

Sunday should be clear and cold with lows in the teens and daytime highs only near the freezing mark. Northerly winds will keep the wind chills into the teens and 20s, however.

"Monday looks to be the coldest we have been since back in January," Faurot said. "The only real question mark is clouds as there are some indications that there may be enough cirrus clouds to keep temperatures from completely bottoming out.

"At any rate, the winds will be light, the air already cold and dry, so if we are clear, some of the colder valley locations could see single digits Monday morning and lower teens elsewhere."
