TULSA, Oklahoma -- The word "Christmas" was dropped from the annual Holiday Parade of Lights title. That ignited protests and captured the attention of politicians, preachers, and TV comedians.

But despite the controversy, the Holiday Parade of Lights lit up downtown Saturday.

With winter nipping on our heels and a cold biting wind, the Holiday Parade of Lights marched through downtown.

"We do it every year! We load up grandkids and we head down here rain sleet or snow. Probably not real smart but we have a great time," said parade goer Doug.

The cheerful celebration included floats, lights, and balloons.

The weather may have turned frightful.

"We have handwarmers. Gloves, hats, blankets, thermo knits, sweaters, love, and stocking caps. Everything that you could imagine basically," Doug said.

But the spirit of the season is truly delightful.
