Christmas Carol Comes To Life For Tulsa School Kids

Posted: Updated:

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Charles Dickens's "A Christmas Carol" came to life for students at Tulsa's Discovery School Monday.

Seventh grade students took parts as Ebenezer Scrooge, the ghosts of Christmas and Bob Cratchit. They performed the play for a class of very well-behaved kindergartners.

As you can see, the students used scripts. Reader's theater—as it's called--allows students to learn the performance in just a couple of weeks.

"It's a way of making literature come alive. And kids love it and they can see it in 3-D and they can actually live it," said English Teacher Carol Garber.

Students also came up with their own costumes and made the set for the play.
