COWETA, Oklahoma -- Some Coweta kids donated about 600 coats to children in need this winter.

The students at Mission Intermediate Grade School went way above and beyond to help out Trav's Coats for Kids this year. They asked family members, went to neighbors, even churches to make sure there were plenty of coats.

The kids came up with the idea to help out after a special fundraiser for the animal shelter last month.

"We raised lots of food and beds and blankets for them so we thought we should do the same thing for the people in Oklahoma and people who don't have jackets," said Cameron Borens, Student Council President.
